Consular Assistance
The Australian Government provides 24-hour consular assistance to Australians who are overseas. This assistance may be accessed by telephone, on +61 2 6261 3305 (from overseas), 1300 555 135 (from within Australia).
If you are in Solomon Islands and in need of consular assistance, you may also contact the High Commission during business hours on +677 21561. Email queries can be directed to [email protected].
The Australian High Commission in Honiara provides consular and passports services to Australian and limited passports services to Canadian citizens.

Canadian-Australian Consular Services Sharing Agreement
The Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands provides assistance to Canadians in the region under the Canadian Australian Consular Services Sharing Agreement.
This agreement does not extend to the assistance of persons with visas/immigration enquiries. For further information about Canadian entry requirements, please consult the CIC website.
Notarial Services
A range of notarial services can be provided by the Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands. These services are for Australian documents, or foreign documents intended for use in Australia.
It is your responsibility to ensure you present the correct forms and documents and provide clear instructions for the notarial service you require, including advising which identification documents you need to present, and the category of officer required to perform the service. If you are unsure, consider seeking legal advice. Neither the Australian Government nor the Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands can guarantee the legal efficacy of the document or the accuracy of its contents.
Please note notarial services are by appointment only and that fees apply.

Passports
Reminder about validity of passports
Check your passport’s expiry date before you travel. Other countries and airlines have different rules for travelling on a passport that’s close to expiring.
Applying for an Australian passport while overseas

All passport application must be lodged in person. This includes online applications checklist.
All child passport applications must be lodged by a parent with parental responsibility.

Lost or stolen passport?
Report the loss or theft of your passport by calling:
- the Australian Passport Information Service on 131 232 from within Australia
- the Australian High Commission in Honiara, on (+677) 21561.

How to lodge an application
You will need to lodge your completed application at the Australian High Commission, Cnr Hibiscus Avenue & Mud Alley, Honiara.
You must bring your completed application form, your passport photos and the original documents requested on the application form.

Appointment bookings are required for all passport applications.

Booking Policy
Applicants should appear at the High Commission's public entrance for security screening 10 minutes before the appointment time. You will be admitted to the High Commission no earlier than 15 minutes before your appointment time and your appointment may be forfeited if you arrive late.
We request that you do not book more than one appointment. Refer to your notification email if you need to amend or cancel your appointment. Please ensure you select the correct type of service when you make the appointment. If you select the wrong service, we may not be able to help at your appointment time. Appointments are required for passport collections.
Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment
If you want to cancel an appointment, please click the "Cancel Appointment" link and you will receive a message on a new tab asking you to confirm cancellation.
If you want to modify an appointment, please click the "Reschedule" link. You will receive a message on a new tab allowing you to reschedule your appointment.
If unable to make or cancel an online appointment, call 21561 or email [email protected].
Please allow a minimum of 6 weeks to receive your passport after you lodge your application.
When your passport is ready, we’ll send you an email or call, depending on the contact details you provided.
Privacy Policy
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) uses third-party software (Setmore) to manage the High Commission’s appointments. Your personal information (including your name and contact details) will be collected by DFAT via Setmore to book your appointment and for related purposes. By proceeding with this booking, you are consenting to the collection of this information by Setmore on DFAT’s behalf for these purposes. If this information is not collected, DFAT’s ability to arrange your appointment will be limited. Your personal information will be handled by Setmore in accordance with Setmore’s Privacy Policy, and by DFAT in accordance with DFAT’s Privacy Policy.
